The family and friends of Bryan Wiersma and Mike Franjkovic are currently planning for the 5th Annual BRYAN AND MIKE MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT. Over the past four years, this tournament has raised over $57,000.00 for the London Health Sciences Foundation, specifically dedicated to cancer research, the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, and most recently, the North Middlesex Community Medical Centre. Proceeds from the 5th Annual Tournament will once again be dedicated to these worthy causes.
The Bryan and Mike Memorial Golf Tournament is dedicated to the lives of two young men which were tragically too short. Bryan, son of Pete and Anne, grew up north of Parkhill. After a short battle with cancer, at the age of 24, Bryan passed away on December 5, 2002. Mike, son of Stan and Lesley, grew up south of Parkhill. Mike passed away as the result of a car accident, at age 23, on January 3, 2003.
The terrible loss of these two young men within one month of each other was a devastating blow to their family, friends, and the community. Bryan and Mike were young and handsome, articulate, well liked and fun loving, being very involved in community sports and activities. Their friends and family are dedicated to creating a legacy in their names. This golf tournament provides the opportunity to support cancer research and local medical and create meaningful change in the community.
